We continue.
Overnight we are awoken during Vorest's watch. There are soldier style people and people in glorious red robes. Demons also appear. We manage to kill them, and one of the soldier guys gave up. Vondal asks questions: We are in the Barbs. The mountain is the Thay Mount. The Barbs are under the Pinions (the floating islands - looking up we see the odd light). Amruthar is very close to where we started just outside the Barbs. Barbsbrink is just on the edge of the Barbs. Fun fact - there are settlements in the Pinions! Some history they tell us: Pinions rose up in the Rending (mage fight) - about 27/28 years ago. No one knows for sure. The red dressed guys were red wizards - they were training, and are often, if not always with the hunting parties. He admits that they are slavers and they would have brought us to Amruthar. Thay Mount is where the wizards study, and it is full of wild magic. We let him, Mêrxas Akrê, go so that he can take us to his ship and drive us around. He says he'll introduce us to Captain Xacê Çiyako.
Vandederp and I go with him to the ship. Mêrxas explains how it would be a good idea to help us instead. The captain agrees and I go get the others. We return and board the air boat. We rest for the night again.
