Asked to ask - Do ALL monk babies turn into tieflings?

Im History

Huangyan Shan is very likely the father of Im Monastery. He made a deal with Asmodeus to fight demons on Toril (and was tricked to Nessus), after being taught how with his sons (which were daughters). He had more sons and when they were all 8, they were taught how to fight and Shan was taken away. He did sign a contract, at least in the story.

I wonder if the contract is part of the monastery's history? If I ever get back I may need to find out (if I don't find it earlier)

The 5 daughters were warriors, and the 5 sons were tieflings - painting at Im that shows the founders. It is hidden away.

Im is roughly 700 years old, based on massive stone orders that were found in Kelethoen's papers.

Other tieflings have been initiated before - some have been fine, some have not. The ones who did not react well had characteristics of Asmodeus. 

Clearly this looks to have a connection to Asmodeus, as well as the iniation that Asmodeus taught Im.

 Elders and initiated can't see the gods, and believe them to be fakery. 

Asmodeus's initiation removes our ability to see the Gods. Why is this a "big deal" for his tieflings? 

Possibility that it is a contract with Asmodeus (for our powers), so that he gets our souls. 

Tiefling

Tieflings - species created while the power of a devil or demon is in play. Can be caused by the parent getting power or making a deal with them. Or just having a baby with them. Tieflings have traits based on the devil or demon involved.

There are many half-breed species, but tieflings are the only one that can be created just by dealing with a devil.

When a person dies, they go to the astral planes to be judged. If they are "bad" a devil will come and take them away.

Asmodeus

First come chaos, with demons. Then comes law, with the great gods. Asmodeus was created by the great gods as an angel to fight the demons, to protect law. After fighting for eons, he, and his troops, became as the enemy, in order to fight them better.

The golden gods protested the change in Asmodeus and his troops, and sought to banish him. But Asmodeus pointed out that he upheld the law, and the reason that he was "dirty" was to protect those who stayed golden. Time passed, and Asmodeus and his troops became more frightful. The deities ran and hid as best they could, but Asmodeus and his troops were their champions - no matter their wishes.

As the deities hid, they created mortals, and a home for them. But the demons found out, so Asmodeus was called in to stop them - by the time he did, the world was scarred and broken. The gods put up barriers to prevent the demons from returning, but mortals found the demons and let them back in. The gods were confused about this, and Asmodeus told them that it was basically because the mortals *could* let the demons back in, and, in fact, the demons had promised the mortals "freedom."

Asmodeus offered a solution to the gods for the mortals not listening to the rule of law - punishment. Ogma was created this day, by agreeing with retribution. The gods created new rules, with punishment and let the world know. Deities such as Hecate and Set offered patronage to the dark angels. They were happy - who would want to be punished? And yet, souls came in, that were bound to be punished. Deities such as Hecate and Set offered patronage to the dark angels. Asmodeus, with Mephistopheles, Dispater, and others, took this job as well, and it horrified the gods. 

Hecate and Set offered patronage to Asmodeus's dark angels. Who are they?

Asmodeus offered to create a hell for punishment, so the gods wouldn't need to watch or hear. All they had to do was sign a deal - where Hell was (Baator), Asmodeus got the wicked souls, and he could draw power from those souls to keep Hell running. Pact Primeval.

Asmodeus and his crew create Hell. They start tricking people so they turn to evil, and thus get punished. The gods enjoy their clean and bright home again, eventually realizing that less souls than expected were coming in and that Asmodeus had tricked them.

The gods go to Baator and find 9 tiers of horror and torment. Slowly turning the soul into a mindless monster, then, eventually devils. They confront Asmodeus about encouraging sin, and he just laughs and tells them to read the fine print on the contract. 

Showing it never was a smart idea to deal with the devil.

General History

Time of Troubles (about 18 years ago) 13 Tiefling Warlocks tried to give Asmodeus godhood by making all Tieflings in his shape. The godhood didn't work, the "in his shape" did. Tieflings are beginning to vary again 

Was I born in the Time of Troubles? I am told I am a bit younger, but I've also been told that they don't know exactly how old I am? Was Im possibly involved with this?

Personal

Note to self that I could not see Vorest's god when she spoke to her. Vondal and Vandederp could.

Memories that came back thanks to Dread Polly. Also mentioned that I had something hidden and that I was hiding something.

Initiation. Different than my colleagues. Things of note:

• Said to "unbind our ki from the heavens to bind to the material world". 
• When my colleagues did the rite, their smoke turned orange and then pearly white. Mine turned red and then a vile, oily, green.
• They were euphoric to get their ki back. Mine burned and I still didn't feel right. I passed out.
• The Elders were worried about me. Not my colleagues.

The Elders sent me out to find out about ki and tieflings, theorizing that this may be the problem I have experienced. Right now, I suspect it's more the initiation & tieflings. 

Vondal and Vorest suspect Elder Maln is my mother. 

The cleric of Oghma cast a spell that feels like reconnected me to what I was missing. Perhaps in part, perhaps fully. I do not know how it works.
