We hear an explosion and cheering. We see a crater on a pinion, and a bunch of gnomes. We greet them and talk explosions with the chief scientist Waywocket Cobblelob. She talks about how the rocks want to stay, because of the magic. She continues to explain physics. Then they blow up another explosion. This one dropped the rock 3 feet. Vondal asks if we can drop the rocks to the Barbs. She answers no, because there are pinions that drop on occasion and when it does another rock rises. Some other strange things are volcanoes and waterfalls - where does that come from? We offer to do some spells for her.
We travel more during the night. We see some lights and head to be near them. It looks like it might be a town. Vorest can tell that this isn't the Nest - and then she sees a winged man. Vondal says he thinks he knows roughly where we are, Cakak. The vote is to go visit a little. We approach and are greeted by Gikaw. We explain that we are evading the wizards and are invited in to visit. Gikaw lets us stay at his place.
