Vorest talks about her acorn. We continue traveling, and as we get closer, it gets quieter. It's anxious in a quiet forest. We get within 100' and the horses just stop. There is no getting them to come closer. So we continue on, on foot. We crest a ridge and see a giant, black, dead looking tree, with stony cliff behind it. There is bright green ichor coming out of the tree, like sap. And it kinda looks like it is feeding on dead creatures. We also see two glowing lights - I assume these are will o' wisps. We go in to kill the tree, and I manage to capture a will o' wisp in the bottle the hag provided. Others are burning the tree, which falls, right on top of Vondal. He's still grunting, so I help Vandederp his viny attackers and the other will o' wisp.
After the fight, Vondal and Vandederp move the tree for easier burning. We burn the tree and start digging a hole in the center - apparently that is where Vorest wants to plant the acorn. While doing this, we are attacked by a bunch of twig monsters. Vorest heals while we are digging out the hole. Vorest plants the acorn, and we fill the hole again.
Vondal gave Vorest our bottle of infinite water to use, so she could water the tree as needed. She also casts a spell so the tree will grow up fast and strong. After a while, we are attacked by some trees and bushes. We manage a short break before even more monsters come in, this time it looks like a mossy blanket.
Vorest has finished her spell - but she says the tree is not ready to face the world on it's own yet, so we need to guard it. We are already pretty tired, but it's not like we can just pause and make sure the tree is not destroyed after a nap. More trees, twigs and bushes come in waves to try to get to this tree. Little green guys that can shoot spores and thorns. Owl bears. More moss. I'm so tired - I can barely remember what comes at us!
Vandederp's sword of warning wakes me. I fell asleep! No! It's another lump of forest coming at us. Are we done now?
It seems we are - Vorest is talking to air. I suppose her god might be there? Vondal and Vandederp appear to also be listening, and part of the conversation. I don't understand? Why can't I see anything? What's going on? Why are Vondal and Vandederp digging now? How did they find that bracelet and those boots? I don't think this is normal. Should I know what's going on? Why don't I?
Vondal let's me know that the glade has "good vibes" and lays down to go to sleep. I'm going to trust them - since I've already fallen asleep by accident! - and go to sleep too. It's a pretty tree, but I don't understand this feeling thing.
